Our flying field is on the other side of the Mt. Lofty ranges (some 70km away); weather conditions can be quite different to that in Adelaide. The club investigated the possibility of acquiring an anemometer with remote access to allow members to check prevailing weather conditions at the field before leaving home.

Youth Project

The R / C model aeroplane built by the young members of Air Youth Squadron 9, under the the guidance of O.R.A.M. club members. Later in the year it is proposed that the model will be flown at O.R.A.M. field by the members of the Air Youth, using the Buddy-Box system of model aircraft flight training.

Scale Fun Fly

Sunday April 9th 2006 ORAM hosted the Scale Model Aircraft enthusiasts for a day of entertainment, friendship and good food.

History

Our history started in 1978 in a small South Australian Hills town called Lobethal near the source of the Onkaparinga River.
To the Southwest was a little group of aeromodellers who were still getting a lot of fun from control line model flying.
Roger Kentish (Treasurer), Murray Thisleton and, Peter Wiadrowski formed the nucleus of the Onkaparinga Radio Aero Modellers, frequently referred to as ORAM.
